Learn step by step how to install a brickwork support according to best practice.
The brickwork supports are delivered as a modular package. This means that the hybrid brackets are pre-assembled on each brickwork support.
But note:
- During installation and bricklaying, the brickwork supports must always be 100% supported. In most cases, this can be done using props, for example. These may be removed once the brickwork has fully cured.
- The rising brickwork must always be fitted with wall ties in accordance with the engineer's guidelines. It is also advisable to add extra reinforcement to the joints, for example Murfor.
- The brickwork must be built according to best practice and the current guidelines of the WTCB and the applicable NBN standards. All products are supplied on the assumption that they have been submitted for approval to the engineer responsible for the supervisory role.
Installing brickwork supports step by step
- Attach the brackets to the brickwork supports, using the mounting holes provided.
- If necessary, fit the brackets with the optional extension piece.
- Move the brickwork supports to the desired window opening or span. You can use the lifting eyes provided in the brackets for this.
- Position the brickwork support in line with the brickwork.
- The back of the brackets is fixed to the load-bearing structure using the concrete anchors supplied and in accordance with the anchor specifications. 1 concrete anchor per bracket.

- Once the brickwork support is correctly positioned, the brackets must be finally secured. The bolts provided in the side of the bracket may now be tightened.
